Lomi at Silogan

We Filipinos have a different way of lowering our alcohol level after we had a couple or plenty of alcoholic drinks. We have this craving for soup or soupy hot food that will  remove us from the state of drunkenness.  After a hefty drinking session at Tacloban, we  searched for a good food that will lower our amats (alcohol level). That is what we discovered when we went to Silogan and had their Lomi. It was so big that it can accommodate 3 to 4 eaters. It was also very delicious and they always serve it very hot. A perfect fit to those who want to pacify their hunger and lower their alcohol content.

Where to Find

Lomi is common in every 24hours tapsilogan store in the country. But the Real Silogan Food Haus have served this very well and delicious.  You may find them along Real street near the corner of Calle Independencia ( Calle Zaragoza), Tacloban City. It is a very humble 24 hours Taspilogan.  I have tasted a lot of Lomi all over the country but the lomi is Silogan is different. IT is simple yet very delicious.  It is a must try specially after your night out in Tacloban City

Kinalas

When I went back to Naga from Legaspi, it was raining heavily.  It was the perfect time to have a very special popular noodle named Kinalas.  Kinalas is a combination of beef strips, thick beef broth onion leeks and hot soup.   It is the version of Naga for mami.  It is best to savor this dish during cold season and it goes very well with puto-pao (rice cake with fillings).  I remember then, when I was still assigned at Naga, we would wake up in the middle of the night to have this.  It will surely bring you to sweat after finishing it because of the hotness and the chili add-ons that perfectly blends to this wonderful dish.

Where to find

There are many restaurants that serve this Kinalas in Naga, but there is this restaurant located along Elias Angeles downtown Naga that serves this great.  It is Bolofers.  The restaurant is open 24hours a day, 7 days a week.   When in Naga, don’t forget to have this dish. It is a simple yet a very delectable noodle dish very much different from the popular noodles at popular noodle houses.  I guess because Kinalas is an original Bicol dish and that made the difference.
