Rapsa Cruise Adventure – Eating at Windjammers Day2

After my unwinding, I went straight up to the 9th deck where the Windjammers is located.  It was the place for breakfast, lunch and casual dinner for your stay in the ship. They have 8 buffet areas and a half circular dinning area with the view of the sea.

Buffet at Windjammers

I was facinated by their fruit carvings that welcomed me to their buffet for salads.

Welcome Aboard!!!

I started with the salad and the choices was fantastic. Too plenty to choose from. You have to pick the right choice that will fit your taste palette.

Salad Bar

Veggie Salad Bar

It was a magnificent salad where you can have your freshest veggies and plenty of sauces to choose from.

Next, I went to the bread and sandwich bar.  They have hot and cold sandwiches and wide choices of breads. Jams, butters and syrups were also overflowing.

Here were the sandwiches. I like the green one. It is a wrap with cold cuts and was better with a hot soup.

Here is the green wrap that I was talking about. It was a good sandwich.

Of course, sandwich is not complete with cheese.

After, that I went for the main course. Actually, there were plenty of dishes but I can only identify a few. So to make it easier, I identified it as fish, beef and pork. hehe. Here were some of the pictures that I took at the buffet.

Meat and Veggies

Breaded Porkchops

Fish

Delicious Veggies

After the main dish, it will never be complete with desserts. This sinful sweet things were bountiful that I have to control myself just to make sure I can digest what I can eat. Aside from that, too much of everything is not good. So I got a small portion of everything  and made sure that I tasted every dessert without the guilt.

Desserts and Cakes

Strawberry Cheesecake

More Cheesecakes

Baklava

Cookies are good with tea or coffee. Their coffee onboard is Seattles Best.

Cookies and Jellies

More Cookies

Sweet Rolls

It was a full lunch and I took a rest again with cookies and tea before we went to explore the ship.  Windjammers will always be my favorite part of this ship and you know the reason why. :)

Rapsa Cruise Adventure – Start of the Cruise Day2

It was an early wake up for our breakfast and packing of our things.  I woke up around 6:00am and by 7:00am, I took my breakfast. Hotsilog, Singaporean style. It is still the same hotdog, eggs and fried rice. The only difference was the rice in which they  fried with sesame oil and some other spices. It took us less than 20 minutes to get to the wharf.   When we arrived,  there was the Royal Caribbean Ship ” The Legend of the Sea”.

Before the Trip

Alot of people were there and had their pictures taken with the ship as the background. That also included me.  Here is another shot that I made.

The Legend of the Sea

At the wharf, I roamed around and took some souvenirs  and sim card.  It was quite nice since I had a bargain from Singtel.  For $10, you can call 75 minutes and 200 international text messages.  Plus, they gave me a backpack.  Its really hard to be offline for a while.

From the view deck of the wharf

While waiting, I got hungry and another way to treat a hungry man is to give in to his heart’s desiret.  My attention was caught by this open kitchen beside the waiting deck.  It was a fast food with all of the ingredients that they need.  It reminded me of my Lola’s Kitchen in Mandaluyong.

Open Kitchen

Turo Turo

This was very Filipino. We are use to eat this way specially at fast food restaurant.  I guess I was attracted to this resto because of the same setup except for the food that that they have. It is more of the Malay and Chinese.  I ordered for a Curry Chicken and some rice.  Some what similar to our Chicken curry but the amount of curry and spices are far more from curry.  It was very spicy but it was okay. I was also delicious.

Curry Chicken

After a hour and two, we were boarding the ship. It was a long line but manageable since it was moving.  When I got to the pier, I made another shot infront of the ship.

THe legend of the Sea Again

As you can see, the Singapore cable car is passing from the wharf going to the Sentosa.  I did not have enough time to ride this because of the hectic schedule we had.  But I will surely ride it when I get back again.

Singapore Cable Car

When I got inside, It is like coming inside a 5star Hotel with carpeted flooring and elegant finished wall.  Metal railing were well polished and the atmosphere was luxurious.

Inside the Ship

As a lover of art, I really appreciated their paintings.  Every landing at every stairwell  have an original collection of fine paintings dated from 1900′s to 1950′s. Here are some of my favorite:

My friend and I decided to take the stairs going to Deck four instead of using the elevator.  When we got there, I was stun by the beauty of their promenade.

@ the Promenade

Here is another shot from the top.  There were live performers serenading people who would like to relax. There is a champagne bar just in-front of the performers.

view from the top of the Promenade

The ambiance was nice and I don’t want to miss this moment when you can relax and have a good live music. I  went to the Champagne Bar and had the drink of the day.

More Champagne?

The Drink was Singapore Sling. Right timing since we are still in Singapore.

I just had this before I went to Windjammers for Lunch.

Rapsa Cruise Adventure – Day1 Singapore

It was early in the morning when we arrived at Singapore in preparation for the cruise the following day.  I was surprised by the weather for it was very hot and definitely far from the previous climate the last time I was there. From the airport, we went straight to the hotel.

@Katong Park

As an urban dweller, I just dumped my bags in the hotel and went out to see food, people and the beauty of old Singapore. I started with the old place. My photowalk brought me to Geylang District. Not so much to fancy but it has its old charm that you will see in old cities like being in Ermita, Manila but much more liberated.

It was quite a tiring walk with my heavy cameras and laptop in my backpack. My first food stop was at LIM BENG Coffee House at Lor 16 Geylang.

I always fancy eating Laksa but this one was strong to the sense of smell and taste. It was super hot Laksa noodle soup but it was very delicious. I don’t usually take tea but when everyone was doing so, I gave it a try. It went well. But after eating, I went straight to the convenience store for water.

Laksa and Tea

Im glad to meet a Filipino named Andy who has been to the area from 10 days already.  Andy was from Subic Zambales, and He was there in Singapore as his jump off point going to Qatar. He gave directions to where to go and how to get there. It was a very good conversation and he lead me to discover other places.

After my hearty meal, I went to straight to hotel to refresh and off we go again. We went to Marina Bay. It was a spectacular Man-made Marvel with colossal towers and beautiful infrastructures.

Of course the Merlion monument must not be missed. It like you’ve never been to Singapore if you have no picture of this.

Merlion

This cute little fella caught my attention. It is a elephant with durian armor.  It gave me a drive to eat durian, unfortunately, I did not see any. Not in Marina, but I guess in the market. Hehe.

We passed by Esplanade while the rain was pouring hard. Luckily, at the end of the bridge is the Esplanade Performing Arts Center.

We went inside, dried ourselves and took a little rest.

At last, we went on top of the Performing Arts center and was welcomed by this wonderful view of the ruffles tower and skyline.  It was like you are looking at a post card picture. We were only a handful who went to this place but all of us were amazed in what we saw.

@Marina Square

Singapore at Night

At the other side was the view of the Singapore Flyer. It was huge and filled with lights at night.

Just to end the day, I cannot eat anymore.  The Laksa made me full and the only food that I had were few bottles of Guinness Stout.

My Dinner

It was a day full of sights, sound and taste. I did not realize that I was walking all throughout. It was worth the walk and definitely, tomorrow will bring another adventure.
