I always give time for great tasting beer. What I like about this great brew is that it makes me feel relaxed, refresh and energetic after a bottle or two. With all of the beers that I tasted, there are two particular beers that I can say, ”close to my heart”. That is Red Horse and Hoegaarden.

Hoegaarden
This beer has a long history. It was first created in 1445 by the monks who gave birth to the Wheat Beer. This beer has received an award last June of 2009 from the International Taste and Quality Institute (iTQi) in Brussels and on the same year on October, it won the first place on specialty beer from the Hong Kong International Beer Challenge . This beer has a distinct taste that is somewhat sweet with an experience of drinking a cold milk with a alcohol kick. It really relaxes me every time I have a bottle of this beer. I make sure I have a few bottles in my ref. Its very good to end the day with a bottle of Hoegaarden.

Redhorse Beer
This beer is strong with a 6.8 % alcohol and a full flavored taste. When you go to its web page, you will see bands, rockers, tattoos and something alternative. I gues that is only their positioning of this beer in the market. However, I am not a rocker nor a fan of tattoos and alternative lifestyle. This beer induces my creativity in business and mostly when I work using my mind. I have created many business and corporate plans with this respectable beer beside me. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t drink in the office. After office, specially in the house, that is when I partner my work with Red Horse.

Red Horse
With Hoegaarden that makes me relax and Red Horse that out pour my creativity, I have my perfect drink for my perfect moments.

We Filipinos are also excellent pasta and pizza lovers even though it did not originate in our place. This is the same reason why my urges for pasta and pizza are always there. In Antipolo City, there is this special place that satisfied my craving. It is Qizia Café. They serve pasta, pizza, cakes, coffee and many more. This was referred to us by some parents in KCLC. My favorite was Pasta Aribbata. The spiciness and texture of the pasta made this special. It was like eating at a very expensive Italian restaurant inexpensively.

My daughter preferred Carbonara in Fettuccini since she like white sauce. It I also tasted good and the servicing is more than enough for one person. For our pizza, we chose four cheese pizza. It goes very well with the pasta and is the favorite of my kids since they don’t like pizza with the toppings. They prefer cheese only.

I was so amazed of the taste and price that Qizia café have that I decided to taste they clubhouse sandwich. It was also good but I prefer the pasta Aribbata better. I guess because my craving was really for the pasta and not for the sandwich.

Well, it was a good and hearty meal that my family just had and it is very near our place in Antipolo. What made it more exciting, their prices was very affordable.

Qizia Café is located along L. Sumulong Memorial Road right just before Petron Station if you are coming from Rizal Provincial Capitol. Their first branch was in Marikina City. It was indeed a fat Sunday evening of dining and eating at Qizia Café. Definitely, we will be coming back for more.
Just a short trivia, Lumpiang Shanghai did not originate in Shanghai China. If you go there and if you try to look for one, you’ll get frustrated because Lumpiang Shanghai came from the Philippines. That goes the same with the Shanghai Fried Rice. This lumpia or spring rolls has been in our culture since time in memorial and it has been associated with us being a Filipino. This heaven sent spring roll can be found everywhere in our country. We have different varieties of spring rolls. Here are the samples: lumpiang gulay, lumpiang baboy, Lumpia sa Ubod, Lumpiang Saging (Turon pala yon), Lumpiang Hubad and of course, Lumpiang Shanghai.
For this entry, there is this Chinese Restaurant that serves this directly from their kitchen. You will see that there were signs of crackling and steaming when they put it on your table. The taste was very sumptuous even my kids did like it. Lumpiang Shanghai is not complete without the sweet and sour sauce. It also went well with the concoction of chili garlic with soy and kalamansi.

Pata Tim
Eating at King Bee really gave me the appetite to eat more and more and one dish that I cannot miss is their Pata Tim. It is huge but it was so soft and very tender. What made it more luscious is the sauce. It perfectly blended with the pork. With this blog, I feel like rushing to the place and have it with Yang Chow fried rice. Just one tip, never eat this everyday because you should also take care of your heart and maintain a good cholesterol level. Why? So you can eat this occasionally without hesitation.

Pasta Negra
If you want to try something different to your pasta, the pasta Negra of Old Spaghetti House is something you should have. The pasta is cooked with the ink of the squid that turns it into black. It is made more delectable with a crispy calamari. The combination blended very well. The taste is just perfect and if very good with your favorite beer.

The Pasta Negra can be found in every Old Spaghetti House restaurant in the Metro. But for this entry, I had their Pasta Negara at their branch along Sumulong highway, Antipolo City. It is very near Valley Golf and it is the highway going to the famous Eagle’s Nest. I chose this spot for its magnificent night cityscape. Your dining experience is different if you have a very wonderful view aside from the very delicious Pasta Negra.

Christmas time is another day of the year that we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. Since its His birthday, there are plenty of celebrations worldwide. For us, the Noche Buena one of the most wonderful time for a feast of great food, closeness of family and reflection on the birth of our Lord.

For our part, since we are a large family, we celebrate it together with our relatives. We organize games and gift giving. We make sure that the food in the dinning table will continuously flow for those who would like to eat in our family and friends who pay us a visit. Not to mention, it is also the time to share our blessings with our less fortunate brothers and sisters. Our Noche Buena table is for all of those who want and need to eat.

After the Noche Buena, we also have a private celebration in our own house. For this, we drank wine and ate bread.

That concludes our day and a prayer that all be blessed by the coming of our Lord.

Isn’t it wonderful if you have a training and the food that is being served is not the usual sandwich and coffee but, you’ll have Burritos and Nachos instead? Yes my fellow foodies, that is one reason to have a training at MMLDC. Not only that they provide a very good venue that is conducive to learning but they also serve food satisfying to your taste buds and stomach. MMLC never failed my expectation when it comes to good food, corporate standard and friendly people. The only thing that set me back is after eating and the siesta time of 1:00 to 2:00pm. After eating their fantastic food, plus the good cooling system of the area, it will hypnotize you to a deep sleep.
Thanks to the overflowing coffee and Kutchinta that will surely perk you up every time your sleepy head falls down.

Pinoy Salad
Vegetable salad? This is one complete meal that will make your system clean. There is no substitute for a health body and a healthy lifestyle. We Filipinos are not new to this because we also have our special blend of our fresh garden salad. This easy to make vegetable salad is available all year long. It is a combination of okra, Camote tops, tomatoes, onions, green mangoes, and eggplant. For the Okra. Camote tops and eggplant it is steam and half cooked to make it crispy. This nutritious dish will not be complete without the bagoong alamang ( shrimp paste). This is something healthy and at the same time very delectable vegetable combination. I use to have this specially when I have pork. Yummy talaga!!! I was surprised during one of our session at MMLDC that they serve this and it was organic.

Pinoy Salad can be done anywhere all year round and this is very healthy dish is eaten through our the archipelago. It just differ in the bagoong. In Pangasinan, and Ilocos region, we have our KBL ( kamatis, bagoong and lasona). I remember to have this every morning as part of our breakfast. In the Visayas, we have it with lato (sea weeds). For this entry, I experienced it at MMLDC, Antipolo City. It is near Assumption Antipolo along Sumulong highway. This salad is common to each and every Filipino vegetable eaters and they can attest that this is truly a pinoy signature vegetable dish. Mabuhay ang mangangain ng gulay!!!
