Liempo de Lechon and Lechon Manok of Tita Fannies

Grill Place of Tita Fannies

When it Cagayan De Oro, it is always a time for good food with your good friends. Right after work, I was brought by my friend to dinner. Since they know that I am always looking for an extraordinary experience in eating, they brought me to Tita Fannies for me to taste their famous Liempo de Lechon.  Just before we went there, I was already thinking of eating Liempo. When they mentioned Tita Fannies, I did not give any hesitation instead I said, “take me there, right-away!”  Tita Fannies is very easy to access since it is just along Corrales st. downtown CDO.

Order Counter

We ordered for 3 dishes. First was the Lechon Liempo, second was Lechon Manok, and third was Kinilaw.

Liempo De Lechon

It took us not that long when our orders started to come in. When I tasted their Liempo de Lechon, the skin was crackling and the meat was so tender. I guess they have a technique in marinating and cooking the liempo. It was indeed very delicious and tasty.  It was something to eat and eat again. Ang sarap sobra!!!

Lechon Manok

Second was the lechon Manok. Typical of a lechon from the south, it was tasty as well and the taste of lemon grass enhanced its flavor.  It was very flavorsome and was perfect as a main dish and an appetizer. It goes very well with soy, chilies and calamansi.

Kinilaw Boat

Their Kinilaw was also as great with their grilled dishes. It was the right combination. It was very delicious specially with beer.

Inside Tita Fannies

Dining at Tita Fannies does give you an experience of eating great food coupled with a good ambiance. You can also eat with your bear-hands ( for foreign readers, there is a proper ethics in the Philippines society in eating without utensils) or ”kinamot” as what they say in the south.  When you are in Cagayan De Oro or Iligan City, visit Tita Fannies. You may also visit their website at http://titafannies.com

Outside Tita Fannies

To Tita Fannies, I will again go back to your place, have the Liempo de Lechon and taste your other delectable dishes. Till we meet again, Tita Fannies.  Rapsa kaayo ang imohang Liempo de Lechon ug ang Lechon Manok!!!.

Deep Fried Buntot ng Bariles

There is always an alternative to every food delight that we are accustomed.  If we want to eat pure meat, there is vegi-meat. If we want an alternative to rice, there is bread. But what can be an alternative to Crisp Pata?  For me it is Deep Fried Buntot ng Bariles.  It has the same tang as crispy pata but this one is rich in omega 3 (good cholesterol) and helps in our digestive system. In Cagayan De Oro, There is a restro bar that offers this wonderful and very tasty Deep Fried Buntot ng Bariles (Tuna) and that is Inilog Grill.  The taste was fantastic. I cannot stop eating it because it has the same ligaments, crispy skin, and tender meat. It has a resemblance to that to a crispy pata (pork hind).  The difference is, this one is fish.

Where to Find

You can find Inilog Grill at Tiano Brothers cor. Kalambaguhan st, Down Town Cagayan De Oro.  This is a very interesting grill because they have good food, good music, free rice and free bulalo soup.  They also serve very good viands and grills and their service is excellent.  What do you expect when you are in the City of Golden Friendship? There are lots of friendly people who are very accommodating and have a positive outlook in everything they do. When in Cagayan De Oro, don’t forget that there this a wonderful grill that serves a very wonderful Deep Fried Bunot ng Bariles.  Rapsa kayo bai!!! Chada diri sa CDO.

Remember Me?

This is something you should taste when you go to Cagayan De Oro.  last week I went to this place and this is one broth similar to the soup number 5 or bat and balls of Batangas but this has a twist.  It is commonly known as RM or Remember Me in CDO. It is made of the male genitals from cow or carabao cooked with pepper, sliced onion, leeks, garlic and plenty of ginger.  They have additional ingredient at is hard to catch because of the aroma and flavor combined. I guess that is why it is call Remember Me.

Where to find

This is available in Misamis Area as well as other places going to Butuan City or Agusan Region.  I tried eating inside the Market of Cogon where there are restaurant serving Halal foods and RM. The best that I tasted is located at Capistrano st. and the name of the restaurant is Lugawan“.

If you visit CDO, don’t forget to experience “Remember Me” and for sure you will not forget it.
