My Batchmates. Batch 90
Last February 4, I got the change to attend our yearly alumni homecoming at La Salle Greenhills and the theme was “Happy Verde”. As usual boy will be boys and as a boys school, drinks, food and entertainment dominated the LaSalle grounds. There were overflowing beer and food. It was nice to see old friends and literally, most of they grew old. hehehe. But the spirit of being a La Sallian still stayed young.
The event is not complete without entertainments.

Sam Pinto
I was told that Sam Pinto was pretty. I am not really familiar with the artist since I am a food blogger. When I went near the stage, my friends were right, she was a stunning beauty.

Geneva Cruz
The powerful voice of Geneva Cruz really drew the crowd to the party atmosphere.

Ciara Sotto
I’m not really a fan of pole dancing but when I saw Ciara, I appreciated it. Aside from her being beautiful, it was also a skill that requires physical stamina and endurance to be hanging on the pole with your weight and being gracious at the same time.

The Fire Queen
Rachel Lobangco danced well with her craft “fire dancing”. It was just like at Boracay. She was a professional fire dancer to which she has perfected every moves without being set on fire.
There Bench also celebrated their 25th year with the school and they brought their models to grace the occassion.

It was a fun filled night and was wrapped by our alma mater hymn. Afterwards, fireworks. Here are my first series of shots of fireworks.

It was a fun evening of meeting old friend being “high school” again and celebrating what is ment to be green. It was not only entertainment, our La Salle Family from Iligan also gave grace to the occassion as being a recipient of the typhoon Sendong where all La Sallian community hepl during the relief operation at Iligan and CDO.
We ended the evening with a hearty cheer and hopefully, we will see each other once again in our coming event on May 2012.

Talaba
Oysters everybody!!! I had my first taste of oyster when I was still very young at Barrio Fiesta along EDSA. It was served without the shell and soaked in vinegar. My second recollection of this wonderful food is at Lingayen, Pangasinan. I remember than that we would bring a sack full of Talaba beside the beach. We set a bonfire and we cooked the Talaba on top of the fire. Now I had this change again to savor this wonderful seafood in Iloilo. Their Oysters are big, meaty and total delicious!!! Many ways it can be prepared, but for me the best is to soak it in hot water. Once the shell opens, then it can now be eaten. It is best with soy, vinegar, calamansi and plenty of chilis. My friend in Iloilo brought us to this humble restaurant that serves fresh fish, pork and of course, Talaba. The name of the restaurant is Nato and Helen. This is totally food tripping. We had the Talaba as our appetizer while we were waiting for the main dish.

Where to Find

Inside Nato and Helen
Talaba is abundant across the country, but for this food experience, it was at Nato and Helen at Jalandoni st., Iloilo city. It is very near SM. Nato and Helen are famous because of their affordable price and fresh seafoods. Something you should not miss when you go to Iloilo. Never miss their talaba. As a matter of fact, we had 2 bowls-full of of talaba and we had a very good food experience. It was perfect with my favorite beer.

Bicol

- Cucido
I have always been a fan of fish soups and I am always looking for new and exciting dish. In my travel to Bicol, I experienced a very fantastic and mouth-watering dish called Cucido. Cucido is Bicolano soup dish made of fish. kamote tops, tomatoes, calamansi, onions radish and large chilis. It is like sinigang but the soup is clearer. This wonderful dish is available at some turo-turo or native restaurants. For this food trip experience, I tasted this in our friend’s house in Legaspi, Albay. They served Cucido with Blue Marlin.
Bicol has always been my delight when it comes to eating and food tripping. They have plenty of delectable dishes to choose from. Good company to be with you and a Cucido that will truly satisfy your craving for a fish soup. Very healthy and very delicious.

Malaysia
It was always a good day to wake up in the cruise. When I woke up, I went straight to Windjammers to take a very good breakfast buffet again.

My Breakfast
When you are in the cruise, eating becomes a habit. You want to taste everything but it is very much impossible with your mouth. So the best way to feast is through your eyes.

After breakfast, I took a short stroll at Deck 10 for a morning sea breeze. I decided to go back to my cabin for a movie. When I went out around 10:00am, there was another afternoon jamming session along the pool side.

There was always a party, day and night. After listening to this and playing at the casino, Lunch was served again. Here were the shots of what I ate and other that my eyes feasted on.

After lunch, I packed again and prepared for my photowalk at Melacca, Malaysia. We were brought to shore via speedboat since ship cannot dock at the shallow waters.

Docking at Melacca
As soon as I landed at Melacca, I started my photo walk. It was quite fun. Plenty of foreign and local tourist exploring the place.

This Tricycle caught my attention. What we have in the Philippines are tricycle with loud music but not with flowers. As far as I can recall, I saw this in one of the"Flores De Mayo" Festival where the damsel was processioned sitting on a tricycle with flowers. This might be a very good style. Customers are treated with beauty and elegance through flowers and sounds.

Going to the Skyride

This was my first time to be near a real Galleon.

More Exporation of the Place
After the long walk, my friends decided to take a merienda break. We decided to have some Roti Susu and Roti Kaya. Roti susu is a flat breat with condense milk inside. Roti Kaya is the same flat brea but with a coco jam. It was good with a hot team. I got the opportunity to take a shot when the roti was prepared and cooked.

Alas!!! The finished product, Rotti Kaya.
After eating, we went straight to the port. We did not noticed but our 4 hours was already spent walking and exploring the place. When We got to the ship we went straight to our cabin. Too tired to perpare for another formal dinner at Romeo and Juliet, we decided to go back to Windjammers to a casual a sumptous dinner.

I started with the sushi before going to main dish. Not that bad but I prefer it spicier.
